Above are stills from “Framed,” a short story shot entirely with the iPhone 4S:
A photographer walks around the woods to take some pictures, when something unexpected happens.
I was visiting my other half in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho just about a week ago. While the little town is expanding it’s surrounded by even smaller little places. We drove through the outskirts and passed a century plus old church on top of a hill in Cataldo. It was and still is the perfect scene for a great eerie movie. I’ll be returning there for more photos in the coming months! I can’t wait!

Emilia and I constantly talk about going on adventures. We dream of them, we plan them, but only occasionally do we actually go forth into the world with the wild abandon we wish to. This was one of those successful times. We ran into the forest behind her house with her dog, my camera, and no destination. We jogged around the forest for awhile, meandering where we would and feeling free from the entire world. I wanted to capture that moment of wonderful isolation.

I am from Los Angeles, where you don’t see this kind of thing often. And although LA isn’t the quietest city, every time I have visited New York I have been shockingly amazed at how the bustle and hubbub in that city never ceases to die down. This picture only became proof as my sister, a student at NYU, and I were walking along the Highline, an up and coming park meets sightseeing hotspot. I don’t visit the Big Apple often but when I do I make sure to capture the unfamiliar because I am constantly being exposed and greeted by new sights and aspects of the city trip after trip.
